I have a daily routine of listening to music. I always listen to music when travelling to and from school as it makes my journey less boring as it gives me something to focus on. Also, whenever I do any school work or anything in my house such as cooking a listen to music as it keeps me entertained. I have noticed that music really suits being played at night time just before I sleep as it relaxes me.
Where?
I listen to music in a variety of places; these are…
-Bedroom
-Parties
-Train, bus and car via my IPod
-Common room
-Dancing class
Who with?
If I am in an environment where other people are present I share my music with them but if I’m travelling on my own or in my bedroom, listening to music is an individual experience.
How?
I listen to music by the use of radio, computer, iPod, TV and live. I always listen to it in the background on iPod speakers whilst I’m dancing, doing homework and getting ready etc.
Why?
I listen to music for different purposes. For example escapism, to dance to, entertain me, cheer you up, gets me into a specific mood, it gets me in the ‘party spirit’ and it helps me relax for when I go to sleep.
By doing this I now understand how people consume music and have realised that there are a variety of forms people consume music for many different reasons.
