Thank you for taking the time at looking at my blog. The final music video, digipak and website are situated below this text and there is a label to it as well. All other things have labels to them as well which are situated on the right hand side. We believe that we took a lot of time in the research and planning stages and we all feel it is strong in terms of how useful it was for the final music video. As well, my blog contains all my preliminary work we did in preparation to the main task. I hope you enjoy browsing my blog!

Song choices

Option 1: I Blame Coco – Control
My first option is one of my favourite songs by the artist ‘I blame coco’. She has such a unique tone to her voice, as it is husky and deep which is unusual for a girl. It is very mono-tone and she sings it is so innocently, consequently making it quite humbling. By this aspect, it could give us the opportunity to illuminate the subtle themes that are apparent/suggested within the song and almost ‘bring it to life’. Moreover, after reading into the lyrics, I discovered that the narrative is to do with losing sense and control of yourself hence the title ‘control’. Therefore I thought of an idea that the narrative of the music video could deal with the themes of insanity and delusion of a girl and the affect life and her community is having on her. It could potentially be a very abstract video and very dark/sinister. Another point to add is that it would be quite easy to lip sync.

Option 2: Friendly Fires – Blue cassette
My second option is a song from the second studio album by one of my all time favourite bands. They are a very fun and upbeat band so this aspect gives us the chance to create a very bright, colourful and fun video that potentially could be very entertaining. The lyrics portray a clear story, so it would be fairly easy to create a narrative from the lyrics. If we did this choice it would be very visual making it very intriguing.

Option 3: Flamboyant Bella – Crazy cool
My third option is a song from the indie/pop band Flamboyant bella. The main factor that is good about this band is that they are fairly unfamiliar to the UK music culture, so no one would of previously used this band. I love the lyrics and the message they are trying to reveal about their self as it defeats the pop stereotype which deals with cliché films. Moreover, they portray the theme of addiction which is a great concept to build on and create a very good narrative. Like the friendly fires choice, it could be very visual and a fun choice to do.
